Start Writing Fiction

I have recently completed a course online provided by the Open University, as part of their Future Learn collection of courses. It is entirely free to do the course, and I would highly recommend it.
I am a novice writer, really, having always enjoyed words and composing succinct sentences. Until I retired last year my writing was all medical, in the form of letters, minutes, the odd article, and presentations.
I now thought I would turn my hand to fiction, and have caught the bug.
